In the early days we received this particularly bad load of frames contaminated with a heap of other plastic goods. It looked only fit for landfill. Rather than be put off we decided to pursue trying to handle this material. We built our plant to cope with the very varied feedstock that could come our way, but, more importantly, we realised the need to work closely with manufacturers, waste transfer companies and other recyclers to encourage them to collect and pre-sort the plastic materials, rather than use us a dumping ground over the landfill.

Over time this has worked and we have successfully grown the tonnages of recovered frames up to 400MT per month collecting from all over the UK and Ireland.

The entire European PVC sector has made a huge commitment to sustainable development through Recovinyl and the 2010 initiative, for our part working with Envirolink Northwest, WRAP and Recovinyl, we aim to get end of life materials recycled back into everyday life. Recovering this type of material is a positive step forward for all of us as we all have a responsibility to see the worth in our waste, not to use the landfill and to cut down on costly emissions created in the manufacture of prime raw materials.
